Tips For Your Juice Detox

Something that has become very popular in the healthy living world is a juice detox and green smoothies. We have some of our own recipes to help you during your detox. Not only that, we want to give you a few tips to keep you motivated and healthy.

A juice detox is usually a 1-3 day fast of consuming nothing but raw fruits and vegetables as juice and water. Fruits and vegetables are a good source of many different vitamins and antioxidants. Some possible temporary side effects of ridding your body of bad toxins include headache, tiredness, hypoglycemia, constipation, acne, bad breath and diarrhea.

If you plan on juicing for longer than a few days, or have a preexisting medical condition, it is recommended to consult and do it with the supervision of a physician.

About 1 week prior to starting your juice detox, try to eliminate or reduce alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, sugar, dairy, wheat, animal meat, fish and eggs. This will help you overcome the initial shock of just drinking raw fruits and vegetables. You should have about 32-64 oz. of juice every day as well as 6 glasses of room temperature water.

Typical ingredients include celery, kale, cabbage, apple, pineapple, cranberry, spinach, beet and greens. Help yourself stay motivated by doing the juice detox with someone. Swap recipes, keep each other motivated, and be healthy living coaches for each other even after your stop your juice detox.

Remember, once you rid your body of bad toxins, you don’t want to introduce them again. So continue on a healthy eating path to see the best results for your health.
