In an effort to maintain a healthy lifestyle and consume the proper amount of vegetables more people are turning to juicing. Consumer Reports not long ago conducted several tests of popular juicers to determine effectiveness and price value, including the well known Jack LaLanne power juicer.

Some of the features talked about in the commercial include, “Jack’s power juicer provides you with juice bar results at home.” The retail price for the Jack LaLanne juicer is around $150. The remaining juicing machines cost anywhere from $60 to $325, Consumer Reports, said.

Juice was created from fruits and veggies such as apples and oranges. Testers evaluated the amount of juice produced from each juicer using an equal amount of fruit and vegetables. As expected, more juice was extracted from certain juicers above others.

The noise level was also evaluated. A number of machines were ear-piercing. Consumer Reports also discovered that the LaLanne juicer produced the smallest amount of noise, although issues with jamming were only experienced when using the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer.
