0810 : Product of the Day: Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer

I always associated power juicing with the kind of macho hardcore gym fanatic that sometimes falls into the Jersey Shore fist pumping category. Well, I have been proven wrong.

Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer brings fitness to your kitchen counter everyday (no gym membership required). It enables everyone to juice fresh fruits and veggies in minutes, which aids in weight loss and healthy living. The juicer also comes with multiple recipe manuals that allow you to make juicing as creative as you want. Yet what's most striking about the juicer is how this juicer has changed people's entire lives. In a review of the juicer, a customer explains how her hard-to-control blood pressure was saved by this product. "My bad cholesterol came down 30 points to 129 and my sugar was 80 (normal) and my pressure was 125/85. He says we still need to work on your cholesterol. I had to admit to the doctor, I never began taking the medication for diabetes or cholesterol. He said then what did you do. I told him, I juice. I use the Jack LaLanne juicer."

It's incredible how much healthier you can feel every morning after having fresh squeezed apple juice, orange juice, tomato juice, and more. And I honestly don't think it's a mind game. Raw is better, always. None of that concentrated, chemical filled, unnatural sugar from plastic containers or cartons.

My guess is that the Skinny Girl Margarita is going to get some peachy-sweet competition.

Tip: Try adding fresh juices to cocktails!. My favorite is:

Chef Claire Winslow's Peach Margarita.

Makes 1 serving

INGREDIENTS:

1 peach (pitted)
3 oz. tequila
1 tbsp. peach schnapps
1/2 lime (peel intact)
1 tbsp. agave
1/4 c. water
1 wedge lime (for the rim)
kosher salt

PREPARATION:

1.Juice the peach.
2.Take a lime and squeeze around the rim of the glass and dip
the glass in kosher salt to create a rim of salt.
3. Add the rest of the ingredients in a shaker glass with ice.
4.Shake well and strain into prepared margarita glass to serve it on the rocks;
5.Garnish with additional peach and lime slices on a skewer or straw.
