Benefits of Growing Lavender

Lavender’s wonderful fragrance draws everyone near it. That’s why many people love lavender; it keeps everything smelling good. It’s used a lot in soaps, perfumes, and laundry detergent. But this aromatic herb can be used for so much more than just its sweet smell. It may attract you but can keep away unwanted things from your garden.

Do you have animal problems in your garden? Lavender can help you. What smells good to you doesn’t always smell good to some animals. For example, deer do not like the way lavender smells and will keep away. This can also work with rabbits and other wildlife that munch on your garden.

Lavender is also a good bug repellant. You won’t have to worry about constantly being bothered my mosquitoes and gnats while working in your garden. If you’re preparing for an outdoor meal, place some lavenders in the middle of the table to help keep the bugs away.

Lavender is also great to use with your Power Juicer drinks. It’s a culinary herb too! They mix well with citrus fruits, mint, rosemary, sage, berries, fruit, meat and drinks. So if you decided to give Mom so Lavender for Mother’s Day, here are some recipes she can use them with. Once they are planted in the garden they will spread!

Lavender Berry Citrus Juice
3 kale leaves
2 oranges
½ cup blueberries
½ cup raspberries
½ cup blackberries
a few sprigs of culinary lavender flowers
Juice all ingredients.

Strawberry Peach Lavender
