Five myths about juicing debunked
December 7, 2011 in Health Information, Jack LaLanne, Power Juicer Reviews
I have always wanted to get a juicer but I was apprehensive. I was well aware of the health benefits to juicing and whenever I could would order a freshly made juice at health stores and restaurants.
Recently, I took the plunge and got myself a Jack LaLanne Power Juicer and was pleasantly surprised to find all of my fears and hesitations about getting a juicer were unfounded.
I’m here to report back on the myths I’ve found to be untrue!
Myth #1: It’s complicated. Uh. Nothing about this thing is complicated. It’s easy to assemble and disassemble parts. The actual juicing is simple too. Put glass under spout, add veggies and fruits of choice to the machine and voila. Juice.
Myth #2: It’s hard to clean. Again, this is totally false. I scrape the pulp out of the machine and toss (all of ten seconds) and stick all the parts in the dishwasher. Done. The base doesn’t go in the dishwasher but that barely gets dirty and is easily wiped down with a sponge.
Myth #3: It’s not worth it if I don’t have a ton of veggies. Not the case. I usually just toss in whatever I have on hand - a few carrots, a half an apple left over from my son’s breakfast, a little celery. You can get as fancy or as basic as you want.
Myth #4: It takes up too much room. It’s smaller than my toaster over and about the size of my coffee pot. It really doesn’t take up anymore room than any other medium sized kitchen counter appliance.
Myth #5: Juicers are expensive. Some of them are. There are juicers on the market that runs several hundreds of dollars. Not so with the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer. This one is a great value for the money and generally well under $200. Plus the Jack LaLanne Power Juicer saves money in the long run because you’ll get up to 30% more juice from it over competitors.
My family and I have truly enjoyed juicing (way more than I even expected!) So if any of the above worries have been holding you back, hem and haw no more! Get to juicing.
