Kids Fitness - January, 2006
At the age of 91, Jack LaLanne is all fired up about the growing waistlines of America's children and decided doing something about it by launching his own "War on Child Obesity".
As a fan of public television, LaLanne seized the opportunity this November to get involved with the KID FITNESS public television series by making a special guest appearance, along with his wife Elaine on the multiple award-winning show. "Appearing on KID FITNESS is a great way to reach the younger generation" said LaLanne. "I've launched a war on childhood obesity and this is one way to get kids off the couch and exercising."
This special episode features Jack LaLanne as the nation's guru of fitness and Kid Fitness' real-life hero. Together with the cast and nine school-aged children from Long Island's Vic D'Amores School of Performing Arts, Jack and Elaine taught them their special way of exercising that has kept them young, strong and healthy. Twenty-five students from the Drexel Avenue School attended the taping and were regaled by Jack and Elaine in between and after the taping. The LaLannes ebullient energy and fun-loving approach was a hit with children and adults alike.
The episode will begin airing on public television in 2006 and will also be available as part of a special KID FITNESS exercise video this January. |
