
The National Academy of Sports Medicine Honors the Godfather of Fitness for His Life-long dedication to Health and Fitness at his 95th Birthday Celebration
CALABASAS, Calif., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), a global leader in personal training certification and sports performance training, was pleased to present the "Godfather of Fitness," Jack LaLanne, with an Honorary Certified Personal Training (NASM CPT) certification at his 95th birthday celebration last week. Hundreds gathered at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel to celebrate the accomplishments of a man who dedicated his life to health and fitness, while breaking down the barriers associated with women and exercise.

As the face of the longest running health and fitness television show, The Jack LaLanne Show, LaLanne has used his celebrity status to support numerous charitable causes throughout the years, and last night was no exception. Unveiling a new program benefitting the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA), it was announced that a percentage of each sale from Jack LaLanne's Power Juicer line will be donated by Tristar Products, on behalf of Jack, to OCNA in support of its programs.

The event brought out many health and fitness enthusiast including Lou Ferrigno, Bruce Jenner and California's very own Governor. The night was filled with laughter, shared memories from family and friends, with many kind words said in honor of a man who has shown a steadfast commitment to the health and well-being of others.

At the young age of 95, Jack LaLanne continues to work out every morning for two hours, spending one and a half hours in the weight room and a half hour swimming. When asked if he planned to skip his morning workout after the late night of celebrating Mr. LaLanne quickly answered, "Absolutely not! My workouts have been key in helping me live a healthy and productive life, and will do so for years to come."
